Beware of PC SpeedScan
It is advertised on the Ascentive Software website, TV in the UK and US and the finallyfast.co.uk and finallyfast.com websites. Further to my previous post on beware of finallyfast.co.uk, Ascentive Software peddles other just as bad software if not worse, Spyware Striker Pro, PC Scan & Sweep and many more. Do a search on them and you will find complaints about it making their PC worse. Finallyfast invites you to do a free scan which tends to be full of false positives and invites you to pay to rectify the situation. I would not recommend you to download their software or try a free scan unless you want to waste your money and mess up your computer!

Beware of finallyfast.co.uk
I was watching five us, a uk tv channel and noticed an advert for some software that sounded too good to be true. Guess what it is, after a quick search around the internet I found other savvy internet users and some users that have been duped already have given the disapproval of this software. Seems to me malware is now expanding into broadcasting there ads on tv.
finallyfast.co.uk is new to the uk but finallyfast.com looks like its been around longer looking at the complaints around the internet.

Defragment single files
File defragmenter software that attempts to make files contiguous on disk. Its perfect for quickly optimizing files that are continuously becoming fragmented, or that you want to ensure are in as few fragments as possible.

Defragment files that get missed by most programs
Some files never seem to get defragmented by software because the system files are in use. Files like the swap file. You could use a windows pe or bartpe boot disk to defrag these files or use pagedefrag and have them defragmented at boot time. There are other work arounds but pagedefrag seems the quickest and easy to do.

Tips to optimise your Windows XP to start faster for FREE!
Over the years of using windows XP most people notice their windows xp start up takes longer compared to when the computer was new or windows xp was reinstalled. To fix this you can defragment hard disk drives, reduce unwanted startup programs, and make some more free space available etc. . Looking at this at more detail the registry may need cleaning up and services changed to disabled or manual from automatic.
